Everything was fine. Except Me.
A student at Johns Hopkins University was quoted in The new York Times (Feb.24, 2019. Page 8.)
College Students With Overwhelming Anxiety:

College Students With Depression that Makes them Dysfunctional:
Over 40 Perent
“More than 60 percent of college students said they had experienced “overwhelming anxiety” in the past years, according to a 2018 report from the American College Health Association. Over 40 percent said they felt so depressed they had difficulty functioning.” (also taken from the Times of the same day in an article entitled “The Campus as Counselor.”

– What Next? The Enlarging Cortical Monkey of Older Years
Twenty-nine years before the publications of the above-quoted words from the New York Times article earlier, I published The Cortical Monkey and Healing, my first book for general readership. The core point of this book is: the monkey in the human head loves to recycle past misery, and when that is not enough, it thrives on pre-cycling feared, future misery.
How might humankind consider the pandemics of mental illnesses? I have devoted large segments of The Principles and Practice of Integrative Medicine (12 volumes) to address the problems of mental health, including rational scientifically sound therapeutic approaches. I might point out that I am not a psychiatrist nor a psychotherapist. I am a surgeon-turned-pathologist-turned-clinical ecologist-turned-nutritionist-turned -integrationist. I have strived to remain sharply focused on the science and philosophy of holism in health and healing.
