Fast track recovery from flu

Majid Ali, M.D.

To recover from a viral infection in five to seven days is to give the immune system a work out. After a week or so, the active viral infections are complicated by bacterial infections and require antibiotic treatment. For early recovering from viral infections, I ask my patients to focus on:

1.  To use natural direct and indirect oxygen therapies to reduce cellular fermentation and inflammation associated with co-existing chronic illnesses and medical conditions.

2.  Use of natural measures to deal with pre-existing acute and chronic viral infections

3.  To be aware of sources of inexpensive antiviral nondrug therapies described in the two the following two articles on this website
Nature’s ultimate weapon to stop viruses to prevent total destruction of other life forms is oxygen. Below are my seven preferred natural anti-viral remedies that work by their oxygen-restoring (oxystatic) clinical benefits. Simply recognizing the anti-oxidant roles of spices and herbs included among them is telling only part of the story. The real story here is oxygen. Some other stories, such as peroxide foot soaks, are clearly direct oxygen therapies.

1. Overhydration in some hours of the day

2. Dr. Ali’s Gut Fermentation Control Food Guidelines (a six-week trial of  sugar-free,    dairy-free, and gluten-free diet)

3. Dr. Ali’s Spicey Protein-Vegetable Breakfast Shake

4. Dr. Ali’s Spicey Omelettes

5. Dr. Ali’s Spicy Whole Milk Yogurt Breakfast

Ingredients for Spicy Breakfast Yogurt for Two

Whole Milk Yogurt | Eight ounces

Garlic powder | One teaspoon

Ginger powder | One-half teaspoon

Turmeric powder | One-half teaspoon

Caynne pepper powder |  One-fourth teaspoon

Cinnamon | One-half teaspoon

Stevia sweetener | To personal taste
(I use stevia equivalent to two teaspoons of sugar)

6. Dr. Ali’s Castor / Sesame Oil Rubs

7Dr. Ali’s Peroxide Soak

8. Dr. Ali’s Turmeric-Vitamin C Protocol

I describe details of the above protocols below. For individuals who prefer information in a formal seminar format, I offer a series of video seminars “Dr. Ali’s Course on Healing,”

Dr. Ali’s Start-Low-Build-Slow Principle

I recommend that when beginning natural remedies, please start low and build slow. For example, start with 1/3 of the amounts given above and increase them to 2/3 on the second day, and the full suggested amounts on the third. Amounts of ingredients can be increased during flare-ups and viral infections.

Nondrug treatment protocols fully described in my book entitled “The Rooster, Bird Flu and Imperial Medicine of the New Empire.”

In this article, I present my seven preferred natural remedies for flu infections. I prescribe the first four for my patients for treating acute infections as well as for preventing flu during a flu season. The last three remedies are most valuable for boosting oxygen-governed natural anti-viral defenses of the body.

Overhydration for two hours in the morning (best done with Dr. Ali’s Breakfast*)

Dr. Ali’s Tamarind-Garlic Protocol

Once or twice daily five days a week for chronic inflammatory, immune,
and infectious disorders

Garlic powder* One tablespoon
Tamarind paste One tablespoon
Coconut oil One-third teaspoon

* Fresh garlic juice is better. I suggest garlic powder as a convenience. Garlic and tamarind are best taken before meals. The ingredients should be mixed can be increased or decreased according to their effects on the symptoms .

Dr. Ali’s Ginger-Walnut Oxygen Protocol

Once daily five days a week for chronic inflammatory, immune, and infectious disorders

Ginger root One inch long, one inch wide
Walnuts Two (shelled)
Olive oil 1/3 teaspoon
Stevia Lightly sprinkled to taste
(agave, xylitol or erythritol as sweetners may be used infrequently)

Grate ginger root and cut into pieces shelled walnuts. Add olive oil. Mash them with a masher and sprinkle a small amount of stevia. The ingredients can be increased or decreased according to their effects on symptoms of pain, soreness, and swelling. Stevia or other sweeteners decrease pungency of ginger.

Dr. Ali’s Glutamine-White Seed Protocol

For anxiety and improved sleep 30 minutes before bedtime daily or as needed

Anxiety and non-restorative sleep weaken the body’s anti-viral oxygen defenses. This protocol is especially valuable for these problems. L-glutamine is an important brain nutrient. It is commonly available from health food stores. White poppy seeds improve the quality of sleep and reduce anxiety and stress on the nervous system. Together these two natural substances increase the benefits of each other. I prescribe them for my patients as a protocol described below:

L-glutamine powder One tablespoon
White poppy seeds One tablespoon (ground in a coffee grinder)
Whole milk yogurt One ounce
Stevia Lightly sprinkled to taste

Poppy seeds can be ground into powder, mixed with glutamine powder, and kept in a jar. The required amount of this mixture can be added to yogurt or keifer just before taking it. The ingredients can be increased or decreased according to their effects on sleep, mood, and mental functions. Yogurt can be of cow milk or goat milk. Keifer can be used instead of yogurt.

Should Tamiflu Be used?

The benefits of tamiflu are very limited. Still it may be judicious to use it under extenuating circumstances and in immuno-compromised individuals).

One comment

  • Hi Dr. Ali, what do you think of star anise with cayenne pepper and half a lime brewed in tea to stop flu and cold symptoms? I have been using it on several occasions and stops my symptoms very quickly. But I would like to hear your comments and if you feel there are any contraindications.

    Thanks,
    Linda
