Should I Take Humira for Psoriasis?
Humira for Psoriasis
Majid Ali, M.D.
Only one person can give an authentic answer to the above question if you have psoriasis: you. For any chronic skin condition, only you can be effective primary physician for yourself. Psoriasis is not an exception. For acute flare-ups of psoriasis, indeed you need a doctor’s attention, and sometimes medications. For the long-term control, you alone can address the two primary causes of psoriasis: a fermenting bowel and a fermenting mind.
Basics of Psoriasis—A Holistic and Integrative View
Psoriasis is patches of irritated and inflamed skin, angry at the toxic acids released by a fermenting bowel, and made angrier by neurotransmitters released by stress (adrenaline and others). This is not the view of psoriasis taught by professors of dermatology. It is a lesson which I learned from my microscope and my patients with psoriasis. For people unfamiliar with my background, I add that I examined more than 5,000 skin biopsies as a hospital pathologist over 29 years and cared for more than 300 patients with psoriasis in my integrative medicine practice. Needless to point out that I trust my microscope and believe my patients. Read more about Basics of Psoriasis—A Holistic and Integrative View.

Somebody told me about him. We had an appointment in his office, and after two months it started to dessapear. After 6 months she was clear of spots. Look for his name in facebook. Good luck. His treatment worked for her thanks God. She was only 16 years old at that moment.”
Toxicity of Humira (adalimumab)
Humira is a very expensive drug . While some people can tolerate it for some time, it is known to cause serious drug reactions—drugs do not have any side effects, they simply have many toxic effects. The following text is taken from the official website of Humira:
HUMIRA can cause serious side effects, including:
1. Serious infections. These include TB and infections caused by viruses, fungi, or bacteria. Symptoms related to TB include a cough, low-grade fever, weight loss, or loss of body fat and muscle.
2. Hepatitis B infection in carriers of the virus. Symptoms include muscle aches, feeling very tired, dark urine, skin or eyes that look yellow, little or no appetite, vomiting, clay-colored bowel movements, fever, chills, stomach discomfort, and skin rash.
3. Allergic reactions. Symptoms of a serious allergic reaction include hives, trouble breathing, and swelling of your face, eyes, lips, or mouth.
4. Nervous system problems. Signs and symptoms include numbness or tingling, problems with your vision, weakness in your arms or legs, and dizziness.
5. Blood problems. Symptoms include a fever that does not go away, bruising or bleeding very easily, or looking very pale.
6. Heart failure (new or worsening). Symptoms include shortness of breath, swelling of your ankles or feet, and sudden weight gain.
Immune reactions including a lupus-like syndrome. Symptoms include chest discomfort or pain that does not go away, shortness of breath, joint pain, or rash on your cheeks or arms that gets worse in the sun.
7. Liver problems. Symptoms include feeling very tired, skin or eyes that look yellow, poor appetite or vomiting, and pain on the right side of your stomach (abdomen).
8. Psoriasis (new or worsening). Symptoms include red scaly patches or raised bumps that are filled with pus.
Should I Take Humira for Psoriasis?
I return to the question in the title of this tutorial. The two primary causes of psoriasis are a fermenting bowel and a fermenting mind. These problems cannot be as effectively addressed by a doctor as by yourself. True, initially you may require a physician guidance and drug treatment for acute flare-ups and persistent, deeply inflamed areas. However, the long-term goal of clear, un-inflamed skin requires a philosophy of bowel health to calm a fermenting bowel and a spiritual equilibrium to comfort a fermenting mind. One needs a “bowel philosophy” to make right kitchen choices to address the issues of:
1. Healthy eating
2. Avoidance of adverse food reactions
3. Prevention of sugar-insulin-adrenaline roller coasters that lead to neurotransmitter tumult
4. Overgrowth of fermenting microbes and intestinal parasites
5. Optimal digestion and absorption
6. Leaky gut state
Are you willing and able to consider such an approach? If so, there is an excellent chance you do not need Humira and its toxicity.
